Quilt Entry Guidelines

Eligibility: All quilters are welcome to enter their quilts in the show. You do not need to be a JSQ member to exhibit your work. All entries must be completed at the time of the show. Quilts will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Preference is given to all JSQ members. All quilts 60x60 or larger will require a 4” sleeve for hanging.

Antique quilts, quilted clothing and other quilted items may be exhibited, but will not be eligible for prizes.

Registration: All quilts must be registered by September 8, 2007 (no exceptions). Quilts will not be accepted after the deadline. Registration fee: $5/quilt. To register: send one completed form per quilt with your check payable to Jersey Shore Quilters of St. Peter’s Church to Kris Albright, 38 Dogwood Drive, Spring Lake Heights, NJ, 07762. All entries will be confirmed by e-mail. To receive a confirmation by mail, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope.

For voting purposes, there will be two categories of quilts based on size [outside dimensions= (width + length) x 2], as follows:

Wall (up to 279”)

Bed (280” and larger)

All other quilted objects will be classified as “Other” and will not be eligible for prizes.

Selling your quilt: Quilts hung in the show may be offered for sale. If you would like to sell your quilt, please indicate the price on the registration form. 10% of each sale goes to JSQ. Monies for quilts sold at the show are collected by JSQ. A check in the amount of the sale less the 10% fee will be forwarded to the seller after the show.

Drop off / Pick up: Quilts must be delivered to the gymnasium at St. Peter’s School on Forman Avenue in Pt. Pleasant Beach on Friday, October 5, 2007, between 4 PM and 7 PM. All quilts must be submitted in a pillowcase bearing the name of the quilter.

They must be picked up Sunday, October 7 after the show between 4 PM and 5 PM. A signature and pick-up slip will be required.

Prizes: Prizes are awarded based on viewer’s choice voting. Ribbons will be awarded in the following categories: Bed quilt – First, second & third, Wall quilt – First, second & third and First place winners will also receive $200 in prize money.
